About the instructor
My name is Joe born and raised in Brownsville, TX. I’m an NRA, USCCA and State Certified Firearms Instructor. I started learning about handgun, rifle and shotgun safety since I was a young boy by my dad. I’ve attended and successfully completed multiple handgun, shotgun and AR-15 courses as a student and as an instructor. I’ve taken firearms trainings from County, State, and Federal Levels. I’ve shadowed multiple firearms instructors before becoming an instructor myself. I continue my education in the firearms field as a student and as an instructor. I continue my education by taking 2 to 3 classes per year plus my recertifications.
I’m currently employed by a Federal Contractor Corporation servicing the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Protective Services as a Lieutenant. I have over 30 years working uniform armed security. I have over 25 years of being a supervisor with approximately 100 officers. I’ve been certified with the Texas Department of Public Safety as an armed security officer, personal protection officer and as a private investigator. I graduated Police Academy from The University of Texas at Brownsville Texas Southmost College in 1995. I’ve been certified as an instructor for expandable baton, handcuffing, Ku baton, use of force, and OC spray for over 20 years. I'm trained & Certified with Red Cross on First Aid, AED, CPR and how to handle a Severe Trauma (Stop the Bleed).
